Heating & Air Conditioning Maintenance

Seasonal preventative HVAC maintenance is the best way to ensure trouble-free operation and peak performance. Pre-season maintenance is also important. It can help to avoid a system failure in severe hot or cold weather when you need it most, and it can also keep your energy bill from getting out of control. When you sign up for our Energy Service Maintenance Agreement, we will make sure your heating and cooling system is ready to work.

Energy Service HVAC Maintenance Agreement

We offer Energy Service Agreement plans (ESA) that are designed to help keep your heating and cooling systems operating at their peak performance all year long. With a Jones Heat & Air maintenance agreement, a highly qualified service technician will come out to your home twice a year, once in the Spring and another time in the Fall, to do a complete cleaning on either your air conditioner or your heater.

The AC the service check will include cleaning the condensing unit coils, checking the amp draw of the compressor, oiling the fan motors, checking that belts are well adjusted, and checking the system operating pressures and temperatures against the manufacturers specifications. One of the most important items to check is the coolant level (previously known as Freon) in the air conditioner. A system that is only 10% low on coolant will cost about 20% more to operate!

For your furnace, the vent system needs to be checked for blockage and/or leakage, combustion gases must be analyzed and compared to the unit specifications, blower access door needs to be checked for a tight seal at the furnace, fresh air intake grills and louvers need to be checked for blockage, heat exchanger needs to be inspected for rust and corrosion, burners need to be checked for proper ignition, burner flame and flame sense, drainage system needs to be checked for blockage and/or leakage. This includes the hoses internal to the furnace, the condensate drain and trap need to be cleaned, the blower wheel needs to be checked for debris and cleaned if necessary (this requires complete removal of the blower wheel), an amp-draw test should be conducted on the blower motor and compared with what is listed, wiring needs to be checked for corrosion and damage, filters need to be checked (but this needs to be done much more frequently than annually).
